Mumbai: The first satyagraha which Mahatma Gandhi indulged was at Champaran in Bihar hundred years ago. The Congress, led by Meera-Road-Bhyander district general secretary, Shri Rajkumar Mishra, took out the 3500 km yatra from Mumbai to Champaran.
The 15-member delegation left here on 29th March, 2017 and reached Patna. The delegation first of all paid tributes the first President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad by paying homage at his ‘samadhi’ at Sadaqat Ashram. They handed over a 16-point memorandum to the Bihar Pradesh Congress president and thereafter went to Motihari in Champaran and visited the Gandhi Museum.
The delegation then visited Gandhi Samadhi in Delhi on their way back and paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and returned to Mumbai on 4th April, 2017.
Prominently present in the delegation were Vidyapti Dwivedi, Praveen Shukla, Ramchandra Verma, Virendra Thakur, Santosh, Rajeev Ugarsain with others.
