Amethi/Raebareli: Congress Party has always given importance to the rural people and farmers of India as the senior leaders of the Party recognize their strength. BJP and its affiliated ally RSS together marginalized this section in the last ten years. BJP's IT cell also misled them by spreading many kinds of myths. The result was that the rural people and farmers of India became victims of fake propaganda in such a way that their lives became troubled. They were also badly affected by inflation and terrible unemployment in the country. Congress Party understood their pain and started the exercise to bring them back to its side.
This is the reason why this time the top leadership of the Party focused on village-to-village campaigning on foot, for the Lok Sabha elections. The Party accepted this new tactic of campaigning through rallies, road shows and election meetings as the mantra for victory.
According to senior Congress leader Vishwanath Chaturvedi, who was active in campaigning in Congress Party's high-profile seats Rae Bareli and Amethi, the Party high command's directions had encouraging results. The way Congress workers went from village-to-village and established personal contact with voters, revealed the reality of people's feelings. Earlier, leaders and workers used to go out in big cars for rallies with folded hands and simply pass by. Voters were angry about this. This village-to-village, door-to-door campaigning revealed what is in their minds. They also cleared their grievances. They re-established their old relations with the Congress Party and the Gandhi family. This strategy of campaigning showed that the voters were unknowingly moving away. According to Chaturvedi, this strategy has infused new energy. Vishwanath Chaturvedi and other Congress leaders and workers, who are campaigning for the last phase in Chandigarh and other areas of the country, adopted this method very well. They hope that this effort will bear fruit even in the future. Its direct benefit will be seen in the form of victory on more seats and regaining the lost support base of the Congress.
On the instructions of the Party high command, the leaders and workers of the Congress Party went to the public by making issues like inflation, unemployment, the plight of farmers and laborers and misuse of central institutions as the central issues. Due to these issues, a large number of people joined the Congress Party and supported it.The public also understood the lies spread by Modi ji about the Manifesto of the Congress Party. The strategy of the Congress Party to connect with the public had already been started through the two yatras of senior leader and MP Shri Rahul Gandhi - 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' and 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra'. During this period, he met lakhs of people and heard about their problems and later finding solutions to those problems became the basis of the election campaign of the Congress Party. All the senior colleagues of the Congress Party worked as a team along with the workers and this effort generated a new zeal and enthusiasm within the Party organization.
